Welcome to Herbs N Honey. Through virtual cooking classes  and carefully curated meal plans , we help busy people eat better - and have fun doing it.

I’m Lynne Zimmerman, Chef, Culinary Nutritionist and founder of Herbs N Honey. Though I’ve loved to cook from a very young age, my professional culinary journey began in 2015 when I decided to (finally) follow my passion and become certified as a Chef.

From there, I was inspired to pursue culinary nutrition after my daughter became seriously ill. On the advice of her naturopath, she eliminated dairy, gluten and sugar – and it was a game-changer for her health. I knew I had to know more about the ways foods can harm and help us, so I went back to school again, this time for culinary nutrition.

My daughter and I continue to avoid gluten, sugar and dairy and I can say with certainty that changing our diets has completely changed our lives. We’re also enjoying food as much – or more – than we ever have, proving that you don’t have to compromise flavour for health benefits. She once said to me: “mom if people knew how good the right foods can make them feel, they’d never go back to their old ways of eating”, which perfectly sums up my mission through Herbs N Honey:

To open your eyes to the ways foods can help (and hinder) our bodies and teach you to prepare them in a way that tastes – and makes you feel – so great you won’t ever want to go back.

I left my corporate job in 2019 and began hosting online cooking classes during the early months of the pandemic. It was a lemons-out-of-lemonade situation at the time, but one that helped me realize just how perfect a medium Zoom is for cooking classes – and the rest, as they say, is history.

This business is an intersection of all the things I love the most – food, people and nutrition – and allows me to leverage my training and experience in teaching and facilitation.

It really is a dream come true and I feel so fortunate that I get to spend my days helping people in this way.

When not teaching students, prepping for classes or creating meal plans, you’re most likely to find me biking, hiking or running outdoors or enjoying live music with friends. I also love to immerse myself in other cultures through travel and spending time with my two (awesome) adult children.
